Firmographics
Firmographics are the backbone of B2B targeting. They decide which companies belong in a list before any person-level filtering happens.
Employee count is the most abused field. Ranges are estimated, often from profile data, and a company listed at forty staff may have twelve. Treat bands as approximate and widen them slightly rather than chasing false precision.
Industry classifications are similarly loose. Keyword screening on what a company actually says it does is usually more reliable than a category code.
How we handle it
Targeting combines industry, size and geography with keyword screening on the company description, so the list matches what a company does rather than how it was classified.
